Well, he was quick to tell her 'no'. Then again, it's not like they really got along or that she made it easy for him to get along with her period. Evanna couldn't help it though, she was generally brisk with most people anyways. Dastan just annoyed her more, although half of the time she still felt like she was treating him as a human rather than a werewolf. Of course, she had no idea about him really but it was still easy to assume, as cruel as that sounded. There was no doubt in her mind though that he had less than flattering remarks about her as well. As far as she was concerned, they were even. He was just making her look bad by being all nice for whatever reason.
"Yeah, I guess it is," she murmured now, her eyes still resting on him now. Huh, she wondered if there were werecats or they would just be considered skinwalkers. God, it was wrong that the thought even crossed her mind, hunting was starting to literally become the only thing she thought about. Evanna managed to hold in her sigh though and remain quiet for a moment. While she couldn't see Messier sleeping, she was certain it was a peaceful image no doubt getting ruined in Dastan's head by a teenage version of his daughter, "Maybe it won't be as bad as some of the others." Her siblings hadn't been as bad as her, although they were a little more sheltered from the supernatural world than she had been, the price of being the eldest.
Even though he didn't say anything now, Evanna was pretty certain that she struck more than a nerve with her comment. Although honestly, she was pointing out the truth. A bitch move, but hell if she was just going to roll over and admit defeat when she knew the truth. Besides, she was rather unphased by what he thought of her anyways. It didn't even matter now since the whole subject seemed to shift towards her, no doubt some form of revenge. Yet for some odd reason, Evanna couldn't entirely bring herself to lie to Dastan, not fully and she didn't quite know why. It's not as if he was anything special to her.
Evanna's answer only seemed to spark more curiosity in the other's eyes though, why though, she couldn't possibly understand. His question though, actually stumped her as far as coming up with an answer. No, she didn't want to do this, she had been fighting it all her life before finally just, well, caving in. Doing anything else now seemed strange, plus she lacked a degree, "I...no. I do what I'm told. My mother needs me." The answer sounded so robotic coming out, defeated even but all what she could do was hope he didn't probe more. Evanna had no future, she was already living it whether she liked it or not. Bringing up her sister had caused even more surprise and it read right across his face, Dastan really didn't know anything about her, "Uh...yeah. Joanna...she's techically still in college, but when you own the company, you can hire whoever...I have a sixteen year old brother too. I'm obviously the oldest."
