Kaleb smiled a little cocky smile as he listened to her. It didn't really matter that she hadn't been trained to be a Hunter. There were some Hunters who were like that. Some who had merely found the Supernatural world and decided 'They are bad and we are good so lets kill them!'. Kaleb didn't honestly understand the appeal, he enjoyed his work of course but he was raised in it. From the moment he could walk he had started training. Learning all the monsters in theri records. Once older he started learning scouting, hunting, and battle tactics. As he gew stronger he began martial arts and weapons training. All to make him a better Hunter. Sammi was old enough, she was obviously interested. Maybe Kaleb and Aidrian could train her to be a hunter. Kaleb shook his head slightly, that was a mad idea alright. You never saw one young adult teaching another young adult, much less teaching them about hunting monsters. All this thinking was starting to make his head hurt.
Kaleb stepped up and examined Sammi closely, seeing how she stood, her muscle tone, and maybe her looks. What?! Kaleb's a guy just like any other! Do not judge him! Shaking his head Kaleb returned to his trunk and pulled out a 9mm Beretta. Pulling out the clip he saw a full magazine of silver bullets. Gotta love the family for sending you supplies. Kaleb walked forward and grabbing her hand he placed the pistol firmly in her grasp. Standing a safe distance behind her, he lifted her arms to aim forward. He smiled as he said "The kick is a bit to handle if you aren't used to shooting but this is a good pistol. Also it's filled with Silver Bullets so keep it with you and you won't have a problem. Now you got a gun that you can carry with you. And belive me there are reasons for you to do so". Casually he returned to the trunk and pulled out his sweet little baby. The M4 Carbine Assault Rifle. The standard issue weapon for the United States Marine Corps. Sure it was a little bulky and tough to sneak past police but if you fired this off at a group of zombies then there was no comparison. Three round burst and filled with silver bullets, this weapon was definitely a strong tool.

Sammi took the gun in her hand and it felt so natural. When he showed her how to hold it she smiled slightly but allowed him to position her, she wasn't shy about her personal space, she never had been. She was a textbook flirt and had been for as long as she could remember. Her Mom always told her she was just like her father even if it made her Dad pissed off to hear that his little girl liked to flirt. She rolled her eyes at the thought she just tried to tone down her personality a bit when he Dad was around but it wasn't easy.
She was so tempted to shoot the gun but she didn't want to waste the bullets. She looked down at her body wondering where exactly she was going to keep it in that moment. She was wearing skin tight yoga pants and a yoga shirt to match. After running she generally taught an early class at her mom's studio for extra money. She really needed to find a career of her own instead of just tagging along with what her parents expecting of her.
She watched as he pulled out the rifle and her eyes chaged to curiosity. “Well that is quite a gun not the type of thing people are generally used to seeing around here” she warned him. Hell seeing a gun there at all was something surprising but a big one like that would probably cause a panic, especially if anyone were to drive by on the road. Sure it was still early but it didn't mean that there wouldn't be people on their way to work or out of town. “How do you know about all this stuff?” she asked him suddenly curious. “And how do you know about my Dad?” she added.

Kaleb smiled at her as she examined the gun, then he noticed that she didn't really have anywhere to keep it, well he could always just drive her to her house and let her stash it in her house. When she started eyeing his M4 he had to contain any laugh that might escape, he knew it was a bit much but he loved his M4 so much, it was like a nice pet that never let him down. Speaking of pets, he prayed that Aidrian was taking care of Nekoda and Desoto, those two needed constant attention. Thinking on it a bit more he realized that he should really just start taking those two with him when he goes on hunts. Aidrian couldn't be trusted.
When she asked how he knew about her family and the world of the Supernatural Kaleb offered her a big smile before saying "Well as for my knowing about this kind of stuff? I was raised in a very big family who was dedicated to hunting. Never really thought about being anything else, wasn't really offered anything more. I was trained from the moment I could walk to hunt and kill these monsters.". It was a bit sad, not being offered choices in life, but then again? Kaleb could never imagine doing anything else but this, it was the fuel that allowed him to keep going in life. How could he ever give that up? Judging by what she told him, her father obviously hadn't given it up either, it was hard to give up this kind of life.
"As for how I know about your family? Your grandfather John was well known in the Hunter community, he even worked with my grandparents a few times. Your dad and uncle were well known as well, according to my granddad you couldn't hear anything from Demons that didn't include their names for a time. Then things suddenly quieted down. But also, the Winchesters have been hunters for generations, almost like my family. Before them the Campbells were hunters as well. Your grandmother's family.". He had never really discussed these things with other people, he actually felt he might be getting into trouble soon.
One wasn't supposed to just reveal their world to random people, and Sammi was the second person he had shown the true world to. Jade had been the first. Maybe he just had a weakness for cute girls? Oh Kaleb could already hear his grandfather's lectures, and if he were to give that excuse his grandfather would probably explode. Kaleb chuckled quietly at the thought. Boom goes Niall the Hunter. He thought about what Sammi said about the M4 and decided it really was a little too bulky. And so he returned the Assault Rifle to his trunk and instead pulled out his 1911 Pistol. Much more lighter and easier to hide.

“My father never told me” she said suddenly falling quiet. “I mean I knew but only because I'm too curious for my own good I eavesdropped and hear him and my brother, then I found my brother's journal hidden in his car and that's when I started to figure things out” she admitted. “He doesn't even suspect that I know, and it's been four years already I've been trying to do my own research” she added leaning back against the side of the car.
“You know when a family looks totally normal on the outside there just something not right about them, I always knew there was something wrong, how dumb am I to not have figured this out” she muttered her blue eyes falling to the ground slightly as she thought deeply about it. “I guess that's how my Uncle Sam and Adam died?” she asked not realising that a lot of people didn't even know that her Uncle Adam had existed, let alone that he was actually her Uncle on her grandfather's side a half brother to her father.
He'd told her some fluffy version of the story how they'd found out really late and how he and Sam had both died young. She figured that it had been a car crash or some terrible sort of accident but she guess now that it would have been on the job. That would explain why he have left the life behind, but only if he had been willing to keep it from all of them, Ben included. Why was it that Ben got to learn the life, as far as she knew he'd always known.
So her grandmother had been a hunter too, it seemed like there was no running from it, so why would her father choose to leave her unprepared. He could have at least trained her and given her the option of deciding if it was the life she wanted or not. She laughed slightly but there was a scared tone behind the laugh, the type of fear when you realise that you really have no idea who you truly are.

Kaleb listened intently to her words. Kaleb wondered who had it worse? She had never been given the option to be a Hunter or not, and he had never been given the option to live a normal life or not. Not that Kaleb wanted a normal life. The idea was too alien to him. As he listened to her words he prepped his kit and pistol. He was ready for the hunt, and he was ready to mess some people up! But the sound of her voice caught his attention. She seemed sad, kind of worried. He wasn't used to comforting people, let alone comforting girls. He did what felt natural and walking over he placed his hand on her shoulders and offering a small smile he said "I don't have all the answers Sammi, but you have a choice. You can be a Hunter or you can live a normal life. I can't tell you which is better, but I can say that if you choose to Hunt then you can always count on me to help out.".
He smiled and stretching he entered his Mustang and said "Now for the time being, would you mind helping me out with tracking this thing? I can't do it by myself.". Kaleb started the engine and listened to the hum of the car. He loved his Mustang, it was one thing he could take pride in. He flashed a big grin as he looked at Sammi and said "Sammi? Meet Betty! Betty! This is Sammi!". Yes, Kaleb called his car Betty, named after the old weapon Bouncing Betty. It was lame, and nerdy, and completely wierd but Kaleb was totally in love with his car.
He opened the passenger door for her and flashing her a cocky grin he said "Come on girl, we have a Shapeshifter to kill. It will not be easy and it will be annoying but we gotta do what we gotta do. First lesson on being a Hunter? We don't like our job but just like janitors, somebody has to do it and it might as well be us!". He wasn't going to deny that he was usually this goofy but he was putting a little more effort into it in order to cheer her up, hopefully get a smile out of her.

“well hello there betty” she said to the car as she slipped inside of it taking a place in the passenger seat almost completely ignoring Kaleb for a moment as she carefully ran her hands across everything her hands could touch in the car. Yes Sammi loved Cars more than boys, she couldn't help it. A car gave you freedom and promise to take you places, or take yourself places.
She wasn't freaked out by the fact that he'd named his car, she knew so many people that did. Her Dad referred to his car as a 'she' or 'baby' but never actually had a name for it as far as she could tell. Half the time she wondered if he loved that Car more than her mother. More than them sometimes.
When he stated that they had a shape shifter to find she nodded in agreement. What better time to learn than now? Throwing herself into the situation and figuring stuff out that was seemed like the best option. She smiled slightly at his goofiness it was making her laugh. She was so used to spending her time with J.J who preferred if she didn't talk to him at all, or Ben who seemed to get annoyed with her for just walking into the room.
“Tough life somebody has to live it?” she asked with a smile. It didn't bother her she'd lived her whole life in Cicero and she wanted out. If that meant hunting monsters then she was probably okay with that. She would miss home, her family at least but there was a whole wide world to see and protect and Kaleb was right, it was in her blood at this rate, she wasn't going to be able to keep hiding.

With Sammi in the care Kaleb pulled out the map he had of the area. The surrounding towns had red X's on them to signify that the Shapeshifter had been noticed or killed someone in the area. Kaleb still wasn't sure how Aidrian had this, he had just came to America! How did he have more to work with than Kaleb did? Whatever, that wasn't important. Kaleb flashed a big happy grin before saying "Okay then Sammi, you know this town, I do not. If you were hunting a Shapeshifter, where would be the first place you would look? I would generally go to a place that is well populated and ask around to see if people have noticed anything strange. So where would that be around this town?".
That was when Kaleb thought of something, how did he know that the girl sitting next to him was the real Sammi Winchester? He knew that he wasn't a Shapeshifter, for all he knew Sammi could have been taken a long time ago and this could be the monster he was hunting. No! He couldn't think like that, if he started acting like that then he would never get anything done. He trusted Sammi, even though he had really just met her, he felt like he could trust her. Plus she was a Wincehster, something told him that if she had been replaced with a Shapeshifter that her family would notice. Especially her father.
And so Kaleb took a deep breath and kicked his Mustang into gear and started driving down the little dirt road. This dirt and dust were totally going to ruin his paint job. That issued a frown from Kaleb but he quickly covered it up before he smiled at Sammi and asked "So if you don't mind me asking, why do you want to be a Hunter? I mean obviously there are noble agenda's for it but everyone has their own reasons. My parents were killed by vampires. My closest cousins were turned into vampires so my brother Damian had to kill them. I guess you could say I take this job a little personal. Not to mention it's the family business. Everyone in the McPhail clan is born and raised to be Hunters. We aren't really given choices on the matter. Since you haven't gone through any of that, why is it that you want to be a Hunter?". He was curious. Could anyone blame him?

“Well this is a small town so we generally congregate together a lot” she confessed when he asked where there was a place that there would be a great deal of people. “During the day most everyones in work and school but tonight there's a town halloween fair that almost everyone goes to, I think that'd be a pretty good place for a shifter to start trouble” she pointed out. “Plus it would be the perfect place to get everyone together at one time to question them. If everyone sees you and your badge asking questions then you'll basically have free run of the town after that because everyone will know you're 'that cop'” she pointed out.
Her Dad had always been weird about Halloween but their Mom had insisted they be allowed to go out. Her Dad had practically taken them trick 'r treating until they were too old to go anymore because he didn't trust them going out there alone. Ridiculous considering they were able to know everyone in town she had always thought he was being the over protective 'razor blade in the apple' parent but now she knew why. On Halloween it was probably harder to tell what was real and what was just pretend. She'd read somewhere that it was the one night of the year where the veil between the world of the dead and the living was at it's weakest point and it allowed spirits to freely pass through to the land of the living.
If they could already cause trouble she'd hate to think what they could on Halloween. When he asked her why she wanted to be a hunter she paused and glanced over at him. It was a fair question, one she wasn't completely sure about but she had an idea. “My whole life, I've always felt like I didn't quite fit. Like there was something missing, something I was meant to be a part of but couldn't figure it out” she continued. “ I was never really 'good' at anything either, I mean my Big brother is good with Cars, my little brother is a computer genius but … I don't have any special skills” she added.
“When I found my family hunting journal and I started piecing everything together, it just started to feel like that was it, it was what I had been missing” she added. “ I know it's stupid, I must sound like a little spoiled brat” she stated leaning her head back. Especially after the reasons he had to hunt. “ I guess I just want to be able to make a difference and I can't do that here...”

Kaleb understood why she said what she did. It wasn't that hard to understand. Even if he didn't have all the reasons that he did for being a Hunter, he still wouldn't be able to live a normal life. He knew that the things that went bump in the night were real. They were out there and they were dangerous. He and his clan and all the other Hunters out there were the only things standing between the chaotic monsters and the humans. If they didn't do their jobs and instead all chose to live normal lives then the world would be poorer for it. Hunting wasn't a job now that Kaleb thought of it, it was a calling. Not everyone could do it, only those who were truly 'meant' to do it could do it. Kaleb looked at Sammi thoughtfully before smiling and saying "Yep, you have the calling.".
He then realized he had said that out loud and coughed slighty before saying "Um never mind that, so you say that people will all be going to this fair thingy tonight? Yes your right, that would be the best place for the Shifter to have some fun. He'll probably be all over the place just attacking whoever he wants.". It was then that he thought of something that he hadn't before.
He cocked his head to the side as he took a small left turn and sped up slightly before looking at Sammi and asking "You say you spy on your dad and brother right? So you haven't heard them mention anything about this Shapeshifter lately? I would think they would be all over it.". Kaleb normally would have thought that something was strange about that but who cared? Driving about eighty on a dirt road, hunting for a Shapeshifter, and had a beautiful girl in the passenger seat. Thing's didn't get much better than that.
As they started to reach the town limits Kaleb slowed his speed so as not to draw attention. He smiled happily at his beloved Mustang, she was a hurricane of metal that never ceased to bring a smile to his face. Beautiful Betty. Kaleb smiled as he decided to change the subject, all work and no play makes Kaleb a dull boy. Instead he smiled at Sammi before asking "So your into older muscle cars huh? What's your favorite? I mean out of all the cars you've ever seen which one do you like the most?".

“My brother's not in town” she told him. Ben was off hunting something in another city somewhere and her father. Well if he knew about the shifter than she had no idea. “ I didn't... originally that's how I found out but I mean I don't follow them around or anything.” she explained. “Whether my Dad knows or not is a mystery to me because if it weren't for my own curiosity he's pretty damn good at hiding things clearly. If he had it his way I wouldn't know anything about this stuff remember” she pointed out.
“If you're wondering if he's been acting differently he hasn't been he's been same old Dad” she assured him. Her father was not a shapeshifter, neither was her brother. Maybe her Dad just hadn't caught onto the story yet, or maybe he was working it privately. “Just as annoying and game killing as ever” she joked. Whenever her Dad saw her with a boy he stepped in so quickly it was a surprise that she ever had a chance to be around guys.
A smile came to her lips as she thought about old cars. “ Well my Dad would kill me if he heard me say this but...” she trailed off slightly before revealing. Her Dad thought that they should all worship the 1967 Impala, which she did, she loved the car but it was Ben's now so why would she obsess about a car that she was never going to be able to have. “1968 Pontiac GTO, metallic blue, it was beautiful” she remembered it coming into the garage it was the car of a P.I that had been sent to town to find a missing persons, and she was determined to have a car identical to that one, eventually, no matter how much it would cost.

Setheus listened to her intently and realized something. Investigative abilities? Check. Adoration for Older Muscle Cars? Check. Ecitement at hunting monsters down? Check. Yep she was well on her way to being a real Hunter. If him and her teamed up along with Jade and Aidrian and whoever else Kaleb could find in America. They could become an unstopable team of Hunters. Monsters would fear them almost as much as they did back in Sammi's dad's day. Kaleb had to contain a laugh at that. But the day they all teamed up was going to have to wait. Alot of them weren't ready. Sammi and Jade hadn't beem properly trained. Kaleb and Aidrian had been trained but they hardly had enough experience to form a team of Hunters. Lastly Kaleb hadn't met any Hunters in America yet. Yep, they still had alot of work to do.
Kaleb pulled to a stop at the stop sign. He sometimes had trouble obeying all the traffic laws of America, he just wasn't used to them. He was used to Ireland's traffic laws, which were a lot more free and fluid. It wasn't as hard to just drive around and have fun. Of course Ireland was practically mosnter free thanks to the McPhail Clan so there wasn't much need for one to drive around looking for monsters in Ireland, such a quest would take forever and be a waste of time in the end. Kaleb pulled himself from his thoughts with much effort before turning back to Sammi and deciding to continue his questions on her personal life he flashed a cocky grin before saying "So tell me Sammi Wammi! Tell me more about yourself. What are your hopes? Your dreams? Your plans? Your ideals? Help a guy out in understanding you a bit more!".
What?! He was curious! He was going to be working with this girl in the next few days so the least they could do was learn more about each other. After all, it was work ethics. Kaleb wasn't going to deny that he found himself a little more curious than he should be but then again can anyone blame him? She was beautiful and so far shared a few interests with him. Hunting and Muscle Cars! That was enough to impress Kaleb. He smiled and shifted gears before turning onto the main road.
