Overall Personality/Appearance: Danika often comes off as a bit of a smartass. Rude and snarky she has a quick oft harsh retort towards people. This however, is something of a defense mechanism, used to keep people at a distance. Due to her circumstances she has developed a habit of trying to avoid getting close to others, in spite of her desire to do so.
At times her proper personality shows through, the way she was before everything started. She is much happier, sociable and generally easy going without a care in the world. She can be a bit cocky, and though less rude, still a bit sarcastic. This most often shows around the few people she grows to trust and care about. Toward them she also shows a high degree of protectiveness, and she keeps a close watch over them. If anyone harms them, she tends to react harshly, recklessly going after whatever the cause was.
Like most people, she does have her bad side, however; unlike most hers is a bit worse and not entirely hers. The circumstances she deals with result in her mind being less than fully sound, thanks to paranoia and hallucinations It causes. At best, she ends up muttering and occasionally yelling while frantically writing or drawing. Worst, she loses control completely and becomes unaware of her actions or able to remember them afterwards. Her actions vary in these times, to simply acting as normal but having no clue as to what happened later, to being far more violent and sounding quite a bit less than sane.

Overall History: Danika was born to Alyson and Jacob one early morn, completing the small and happy family. Growing up her life was quite normal, playing with friends, going to school, that sort of thing. As she got a bit older, she found a best friend, and the two shared everything with each other. Together they developed an interest in the paranormal, seeking out frightening movies on such topics and reading books on the subject viewing it as simply a fun hobby. She, like much of the world lived in the content security that the monsters they read of were nothing more than imagination or attempts to explain things that ancient people had not been able to understand.
At least until her friend found something new for them to look into. That was the start of things, just a little video of a student film with distortion and a strange man appearing in the background. It was creepy, but really nothing too exciting. Still somehow it held their attention, and they searched it, reading more on the tall faceless man, of the people who claimed to have encounters with him. Nothing more than a fun little game. Right up until it wasn’t.
In small towns, cities, across the country, spreading over oceans, the creepy story someone had started traveled, people adding to the mythos and slowly facts began to build up. People began to believe what they were reading of was an actual legend rather than just a scary story, and as it sometimes goes, the story became truth, and truth became reality. A tulpa had come into existence.
A few weeks after they had started looking into the creature dubbed Slender Man*, Danika noticed something strange happening. A creeping edge of paranoia filled her, and nightmares started to fill her head. Sleep slowly lessened, and she found herself feeling a bit sick. Her friend exhibited similar systems, but Danika thought little of it, until she received a strange email from her friend. Short, and a bit cryptic, it simply read, ‘ oH god you nEed to Stop REading and wAtching aLl those videos. RUN.’ After that, her friend was gone. The police searched, but could find no evidence of where she had gone, though they suspected she had become involved with some sort of cult based on the ramblings they found in the journals they confiscated.
Meanwhile, Danika was starting to figure out what really happened. It was all so similar to the stories they’d been reading. So she decided to do a little test. One night, she set up a camera as she slept, to see if anything remotely creepy happened at night. It did. As she reviewed the footage the next day she scanned through several hours until she came to a point where the sound kept cutting out while the picture kept warping and breaking up. Then the tall shadow appeared and he came into the frame, standing right beside her bed before gliding away. Slender Man had been in her room, not in a story, not in a created little movie, but in actual life. After that the camera became a constant companion.
Things steadily got worse, with the tall figure being seen more often and a constant paranoia keeping her from being able to relax. Then there were times where she’d wake up and find herself with no memory of what had happened, only to find out it was sometimes several days since the last thing she could recall doing. Finally one night she came back to her senses only to hear her mother screaming in the other room, sobbing to 911 that her husband had been stabbed. Looking down at herself Danika felt numbed horror at the sight of a bloody knife in her hand and in shock and panic, grabbed a few things and took off both wanting to escape the creature that now plagued her and get away from her family and friends out of fear that they would be harmed as a result.
*(Just a note if you don’t know, Slender Man is an internet creation that is considered by some to be a tulpa. So he’s not mine. I just think he’s awesome. >.>)

Dream A Little Dream Of Me, Bloody Mary
I never meant to be so bad to you, one thing I said that I would never do.
She adjusted the strap on her backpack and walked off, adjusting her camera as she did. She took a brief moment to change out the battery and frowned. Great that was the last charged one she had. That would need to be rectified fast; she wasn't willing to risk not having the ability to film. Fortunately that wouldn't be too difficult. What with the obsession people had these days to constantly be on or using technology, most places had outlets that could be used.
She made her way down the street, occasionally looking around, the rest of the time her eyes gazing at the viewscreen on her video camera, which she had dubbed Paki-if only because at least then she could pretend she was talking to someone when filming all the time. It wasn't too large a place, just the standard small town. A lot of the businesses on Main Street while smaller places and homes branched out from there. The sort of thing one could find in any small town-especially the Main Street part. Seriously it was so uncreative. The most overused street name in the history of streets since it seemed to be in every place ever. She walked along this town's particular variant of that road until she arrived at a little diner. The place advertised wi-fi on the glass door and she walked in, hoping that would mean they also offered outlets.
A waitress passing by told her to sit where ever she wished and she would be helped shortly. Danika nodded and smiled faintly as she glanced under the tables. Yep, outlets. Perfect this place would work fine. She took a seat in the corner and set her bag beside her as she dug out the few things she needed at the moment. The charger for her camera batteries sat beside her, slowly giving life to the electronic components, and her laptop was placed upon the table before her. It wasn't the best model, but it worked well enough for her, at least for what she intended to use it for. She had just managed to get Paki hooked up when the waitress stopped by to see if she was ready to order. She took a moment to request a soda and turkey club, before turning her attention back to the computer before her and the video that now played upon it as she focused on the somewhat tedious and oft nerve-wracking task of checking as to what had been happening over the past day or so.
