The woods was his calm place, isolation, protection. It was his way of ensuring his own safety but it was also his weak attempt to keep Brady at bay in his mind and keep others safe from him. The appearance of the alpha had thrown him off and Brady had come out to play far too easily, to protect him, he knew that but why couldn't he accept he no longer needed protecting, he was not a scared child anymore left along for days in the basement, he was an adult and he could take care of himself now.
His brother, the one he'd been searching for his whole life had been handed to him on a silver platter. Dastan Riley, the hockey player. It had been hard to believe someone so public could be his baby brother, living such a life and no one knowing the secrets he held, it seemed unlikely and yet somehow he had managed. It had angered him to know this stranger, the alpha had found his brother with such ease and found him just as easily.
What could he do with the information now. Approach the man? Only if he could keep Brady behind. He didn't know what he was afraid of, his brother rejecting him or being afraid of him. He had no family left, his mother had died, his father he assumed had also been killed that night and knowing somewhere out there his brother was alive had been enough to drive him all these years, now that he knew, and had the truth he was afraid of losing the chance.
As he walked through the trees he kept his eyes closed tightly and slowly breathed in the forest air. He had been so long without an incident he needed to keep it that way, no more Brady, no more blackouts, no more death at his hands he could control it, he knew he could.

With fall coming in, the air was starting to take a crisp chill. It didn't bother him much any more, his blood ran hot due to his curse, something that Mclain Swan had yet to fully understand even though it's been about three years now. It was hard to control an animal inside of you, even harder yet when you knew it was the thing that you used to hunt. But there was nothing that Mclain would do about it now and he wasn't ready to give up his life just yet. Plus, there was still some form of lingering hope that he could return to Savannah, see her again but for all he knew, that might as well be wishful thinking.
But at the same time, he found himself growing tired. He had been wandering for what felt like forever, and he missed Arkansas as well, even the stupid kids that he couldn't stand. He wondered what became of them and their lives, whether they became successful and burned out like what half of them did. He missed his family as well. A huff escaped Mclain now though as he rolled his eyes, there was no use in thinking about them. He was still a danger to them, even know, and even more so, they were a threat to him. While he is still family, he is also the enemy now in their eyes.
The thought caused Mclain to shake his head, clear his thoughts. It did not do to dwell on the past and forget to live, not to mention, he was walking through the forest right now. Wouldn't want to walk right into a tree or do something stupid like that. Not that it mattered, there was no one else out here. Although, he shouldn't be so careless, after all, that was how he got bitten in the first place. The more he kept on thinking back on it, Mclain was lucky that he got away with his life. Many hunters might call him a coward for living on with the curse rather than take his own life, but he still clung onto some sort of hope that he'd be all worth it in the end.
A scent hit him now, causing Mclain to stop his his tracks now and stand still. Amongst all the pine and the crisp air, there was something else, something not entirely human. His eyes narrowed as something about it almost seemed eerily familiar to him. Then again, maybe it was nothing and his imagination was just taking a hold of him. That could always be a possibility. Still, Mclain felt drawn to it now as he started walking, quickly maneuvering around the trees as he grew closer until he stopped abruptly, seeing a figure. He simply watched for a moment everything clicked. A snarl escaped him as he stepped out now, and twigs breaking.

Logan heard something before the twigs broke, but that was a sure and definite sign that someone, or something was there. His instincts went up immediately but he tried not to Brady out, he needed to keep control especially in this situation. It could have been a camper, a jogger, or a park ranger and he didn't want to wake up from a blackout to find himself covered in blood with a body buried before him, or a missing persons report on the news. Not this time. Slowly her turned and moved toward the sound his eyes settled on the man whom he could only assume had made the move.
He sensed him before he even finished taking him in. Another wolf, this was trouble. So many years he had lived peacefully alone and now other wolves seemed to be showing up around every corner he turned. Was he doing something to attract them there? If that was the case he needed to figure it out and learn how to stop before too many others found him. He wanted a pack, of his own but a real one a family one with his brother. He had followed up on a lead that had been given to him and sure enough the hockey player was his brother, he was certain of it now and yet, he still hadn't been able to bring himself to approach him.
How were you supposed to break the ice in a situation like that? 'oh hey stranger, you don't know me but i'm actually your older brother who's the reason you were taken away from home, nice to meet you' he could see that ending horribly if it even began to start with.
"I should really start putting up beware, wolf trap signs around here" he stated to the guy, his tone with his accent was being sarcastic clearly, he was just joking though curious how the wolf had found himself there. "what brings you to this part of town" was he looking for a place to change? If that was the case they would most likely kill each other, if he was however looking for something else, maybe Logan could help him and get him out of there quicker before he started digging up too many secrets.
