†Cassandra LuxeHere I am, a RABBIT HEARTED girl
frozen in the headlights
It's seems I've made the final sacrifice... The cabin seemed relatively quiet, she wasn’t even sure as to where Josh was at the moment, somewhere near though, that much she was sure about. As for Cassandra herself, she had taken to curling up on the coach, crystal eyes staring off at the wall as if it held all the answers in the world. Sometimes, she thought that she should go and find Josh, simply just to be with him after, well after her forward move and how they spent the night. But that would prove to be a distraction and well, she needed answers. They both needed them. It had been a few days since her boyfriend had a message delivered to him from Heaven and it only seemed to be one word: Adelaide. The word seemed familiar to her and not in the sense that she had read about it in a newspaper article but like it was a far off dream, or even memory. But these thoughts were just suspicions, they couldn’t help her out. They very thought made a sigh escape Cassandra, “I wish David was here,” she muttered to herself, running a hand through her blonde hair.
Some might see it as a silly thing to wish for, but he was her friend and not only that, David held the most knowledge about Heaven and the Angels, he had Sariel. If there was anybody on this earth who knew anything about what Adelaide could mean, it would have been him. The young woman bit her lower lip a little, pulling it in as she continued to try and think, search the vast plains of her mind yet there was nothing to be found. In fact, Cassandra couldn’t even remember the last time she had an episode, for it seemed as if the voices and angels had forgotten her now as things were setting forward into motion and that made her nervous. Her gaze broke from the wall now, falling to her companion on the floor. Job was busying himself with a rubber bone but the moment he felt eyes on him, the white german shepherd snapped his head up, glancing to his human now as if waiting for a conversation to begin, “This is impossible Job…how are we suppose to figure something out from one word?” Maybe if the end of the world wasn’t hanging over their heads, she might feel a little better about the whole thing.
Amber eyes just stared at her for a moment before the dog got up now and wandered over to a rather small book shelf. Cassandra watched for a moment as Job stretched out a paw and then pulled back, a loud thump following suit. She cocked her head slightly for a moment, still staring at her dog now as he glanced back at her before she finally got up. Crossing the threshold between the couch and the bookshelf, Cassandra felt…something, but she wasn’t sure as to what. Crystal eyes glanced down to see an open book by Job, an atlas. Bending down, she picked it up to see that the page and fallen on Australia. She did nothing but stare, her fingertips running over the map now mindless before she paused on South Australia now and she saw it, “Adelaide.” And just like that, it hit her. A while hot flash of pain, strong enough to feel like it was cracking her skull open with the roar of a million voices to drown her in their screams. The book dropped from her hands, Cassandra couldn’t even seem to manage the function of a scream before everything went black. The dog watched as his human’s eyes rolled back into her head and her legs buckled out from under her before she crashed to the floor and didn’t move. There was an ugly sound as she hit the floor and no sooner did it happen did the dog start to howl and bark, dancing about in a frenzy with no intention of leaving. ...I must become a LION HEARTED girl Ready for a fight before I make...

He really wanted to be inside with Cassie but well, they hadn't been very productive on the answers front and he knew they were distracting each other, she was certainly distracting him at least he couldn't speak for her. As he sat a little ways from the cabin under an old tree he tried to clear his mind. It had been really hard for him to focus lately, with everything but also with what had happened between the two of them. He had probably never been happier in his life, but it was proving to be a bump in the road for the mission, one he would never hope to take back in a millions years.
He had already been madly in love with her and now there was just no going back from that, even if he wanted to, which he new he never would.
Adelaide Georiga? He'd passed through there once or twice on his work travels but nothing really seemed significant about the place. He'd known an Adelaide in Elementary school but again she didn't really seem that important, or seem to fit into his life now. 'She will know' the words kept ringing over and over again in his mind. If ever there were a vague answer...that was probably it. She could have been 3/4 of the worlds population, it was of no use to him now. Closing his eyes he only had a minute of peace before he heard the scream cutting through the silence and from the direction of the cabin.
He was on his feet so fast he barely even remember moving before he made it through the front door. "Cassie?!" he asked before his blue eyes settled on her body collapsed on the floor. He froze for a moment, for a split second thinking the worst and feeling his heart crushing under the realisation. No! That was not an option. He moved quickly and scooped her up in his arms. "Cassie..." he said softly. Taking one hand he checked her neck for a pulse before checking her eyes. She was definitely alive, but that didn't mean she was okay.
"Cassie... wake up" he begged brushing her hair back off her face. "Please wake up" he begged again. He could feel his throat beginning to close in panic, she needed to wake up, he needed her! Leaning down he kissed her softly resting his forehead against hers "Cassie wake up" he said this time it was more like a command than a request he didn't even recognize the force in which he'd said it with a power he'd never heard before.

It's seems I've made the final sacrifice... Scattered dreams or far away memories, they all seemed the same to her between voices and static. Flashing before her eyes, everything felt so real as they all spun around her. Yet nothing hurt, this wasn’t the future and what was to come, for that was not set in stone, not just yet. But everything felt familiar; she could feel it down in her bones as crystal eyes watched the scenes that the scenery submerged her into. This was the past, and she had been there in a different life. Taharial, a voice whispered, Do you remember now? She remembered that name, it was what David’s angel called her whenever he talked to her. These were her memories; these were her memories when she had been an Angel of the Lord and she had been there. Cassandra knew what she needed, the memories whipping by fast before they paused, laying the road for a conversation and a sword laid before her: Rhomphaia. Crystal eyes widen, staring at it the scene. This is the answer, this is what they needed. The wind picked up, the static did as well as the white noise tried to block something out yet a commanding voice cut through it all the same: “Cassie, wake up.”
It startled her, snapping her awake and leaving her confused and disoriented, and for a moment, forgetting where she even was, “Get off of me!” The palms of her hands slammed into someone as she struck out, the static still loud in her ears as she attempted to push away, scramble out of their grasp as her blood ran thick with adrenaline and panic. But then came a bark, and a white dog danced into her vision now, causing her to stop. Crystal eyes just stared at it, wide eyed and fearful before everything came back to her, why she was there, who was there and just like that, the static seemed to stop completely as well, “Job?” The dog’s tail wagged a little, amber eyes meeting her own gaze before she looked around wildly, still looking ready to run at any moment before her eyes fell on Josh. Had she hit him? Cassandra felt her emotions well up in her now, overwhelming her and feeling confused by what had happened even though she had the answer that they had been looking for all along out in the woods, ever since that motel room, “Josh, I’m so sorry.” Her voice cracked, and she felt like she was going to choke on her own tears.
She moved back to him quickly, those few feet that she had attempting to leave with whatever frenzy had taken over her. Cassandra pushed herself against his body, her arms wrapping around his neck as she buried her face into his neck and shoulders. A sob escaped her, shuttering through her body and never before had she felt so weak, so inferior even after what happened. Everything in her life that had happened and this might have been the lowest point, that ditch that you never wanted to hit because it would hang in your mind forever. You have to calm down, Cassandra, she told herself, she needed to for him and she had to try and get words out of her mouth. Almost unwilling, the young woman managed to pull herself back a little from Josh, “It’s…it’s in Adelaide, South Australia. What you were looking for or our answers. It’s the sword, Rhomphaia.” Her heart rate felt like it was finally returning to normal, but it didn’t help with the growing sense of shame she felt, Cassandra couldn’t even look him in the eye now. ...I must become a LION HEARTED girl Ready for a fight before I make...

If anything had surprised Josh enough to give him a heart attack it would have been the way Cassie woke in his arms. As she screamed hitting her hands against him he let go of her quickly and allowed her to pull back from him. She was scared and that much he could tell. There had been something going on in her head that he was not privy to and it was killing him not to be able to help. He moved back just slightly leaning back on his knees as he watched her. She looked like nothing he'd really seen before, the last time he had seen her even close to this state was when he'd found her at the hospital and they'd been trying to sedate her.
He had never however been the cause of such panic in her and it was more than slightly unsettling. Job seemed to pull her out of whatever was going on and it took only a moment for her to turn her attention to him and he waited for her to say, or do something. He wasn't going to make the first move, she was obviously frightened by him and he didn't want to make her even more afraid or uncomfortable.
His eyes watched her softly, with worry before she spoke her voice breaking in an apology. "Cassie.." he started his eyes softening more. It was okay he didn't want an apology he just wanted to know that she was okay, and she didn't look okay. "It's alright" he assured her and watched as she moved across the room and back to him. He wrapped his arms around her protectively as she moved against him and held her tightly.
"It's okay" he said softly moving a hand to the back of her head gripping her hair. He held her in silence for a moment just letting a calm settle. He had nothing to say other than to wonder if she was alright or not and he knew that she always hated him inquiring about her well being, and it seemed so obvious that she was not alright that it seemed almost stupid to ask. As she pulled back and in a matter of seconds spilled the answers they'd been searching for to him. His eyes looked at her in shock but as he rolled the idea over in his mind, it made sense. Jesse Turner had been hiding in Australia, and it was a continent to itself, a great place to hide. Rhomphaia "and a sword will pierce even your own soul --to the end " he said. That much should have been obvious it was the only possible weapon to stop either of them. He noticed she was averting her gaze and he took his hand from he head and placed it beneath her chin lifting her face to his. "You are amazing" he said quietly. "How did you know" it was the question on the forefront of his mind, and his only way of asking what he had just walked in on.

†Cassandra LuxeHere I am, a RABBIT HEARTED girl

It's seems I've made the final sacrifice... She didn’t know on what to say, how to explain what had just happened other than it was a relapse. It was the first time that it had happened since being with Josh, and the young woman didn’t quite know what to think of it. How could it have happened? How could she have even hit him? These were troubling matters almost, but at the same time, they were the least of her concerns. Yet Cassandra couldn’t quite shake it, and the idea hung heavy over her like some sort of dead weight and noose, trying to drag her back down. All what she could do was say she was sorry, yet she still felt ashamed of the whole thing. As Cassandra apologized though, she could see Josh’s gaze soften in his worry, and it might have been enough to make her heart break, “Cassie…it’s alright.” Pushing herself against him now, her face buried into his chest, trying hard to not sob any more. The comfort of his arms wrapping around her felt like the one stable thing in her life.
“It’s okay.” Crystal eyes closed as Josh murmured, although she wasn’t entirely sure if she could believe him. Sure, everything was okay for now but what about later down the road? Was she going to have another break down? Even something bigger to fear, would she be able to handle what waited for them at the end of their path, for Josh? Honestly, she didn’t know and that’s what scared her. Not the world ending, not everything that could happen, but loosing Josh is what scared her the most, and it was selfish but Cassandra never seemed to care any more. Their intimate moment made it clear to her at least where her alliance really stood, not with good or evil, but what benefited her and her love for Josh. There was a silence there, calm before the storm that was soon to come with that knowledge that she held now in her brain. And even though she didn’t wish to share, she knew that she had to.
As the words about Rhomphaia left her mouth, there was nothing but shock resting on Josh’s face but even he seemed to recognize it, “And a sword will pierce even your own soul—to the end.” They were strong words, a strong definition of a weapon, one that they needed yet it sounded like it could kill Jesse or Josh. The idea was still weird to her as well, the memory and what had just happened to her. Cassandra’s gaze felt heavy with those words and still with the scene that had just happened, she couldn’t bear to look at Josh right now. But that didn’t seem to matter as he gently lifted her chin now, causing their gazes to meet once more, “You are amazing. How did you know?” She didn’t even know herself, yet she still had a vague idea. She merely stared at him for a moment, getting caught up in his blue gaze before she managed to find her voice once again, “They…they gave me back my memories Josh…before I fell. I was there…when they hid it. That’s how I know.” ...I must become a LION HEARTED girl Ready for a fight before I make...

He kept his arms held tightly around her trying his best to make her feel like she was safe with him. That was all he wanted for her, to be able to keep her safe, and even if he couldn't he wanted her to believe that she could feel safe with him. “I'm not going anywhere” he assured her. At least not in that moment, he would hold her like that as long as she needed him to and wouldn't even falter slightly.
As she confessed that she had known because they had given her all her memories back from before she had fallen he frowned slightly in though. The idea made him slightly uncomfortable, just because he felt like they were still in control. He liked to think that he and Cassie had made their own decisions getting to where they were now but she was helping him, she had the answers he didn't. He was beginning to wonder if there was even such a thing as fate or if everything was simply prearranged by them. The angels were playing the cards and he felt like he was just falling into line.
Of all the girls he might have fallen in love with, he fell in love with the one who could help him toward his inevitable destiny. Not that he regretted it, he knew he'd been happier in his time with Cassie than he had been in a long time, maybe even his life. It felt like for the first time he was actually doing something for himself, but now it seemed like he was still just doing something for them.
Maybe there was as benefit to that, he didn't have to worry about feeling like he was being selfish because even though he was doing what he felt was right for himself, it wasn't changing anything. Having the answers was great but he hated to think she was just a pawn in their game. He wouldn't accept her being anyone's pawn, not if he could help it. “are you alright?” he asked now, he knew what it felt like, to have them inside your head and it was painful, nothing you could even describe, it didn't necessarily go away right away either.
“Come on” He said sliding his arms, one supporting her back, the other beneath her knees he lifted her from the floor and gently placed her down on the couch sitting beside her. “Do you need anything?” he asked gently. They had to go to Australia, that much was obvious but they didn't need to rush out the door now, she was more important to him than finding the sword, destiny could wait for a while.
