Another day, another night spent poking around the local bar scene by herself. Fake ID's bought you drinks, but it was your personality that bought the attention of the people around you, or so that was what Solaris always believed. Although today, she was hardly on her game. Her thoughts had been far too preoccupied with the last fight that she had had with her sister. All that pent up anger that Rory seemed to unleash and it had caught her completely off guard. She knew that there was only so much she could do, so much that she could say yet it never seem to feel like it was enough, that and Rory just didn't seem to believe the words that came out of her mouth.
The thought made Solaris sigh, everything always had be a negative with her sister no matter what. Her eyes cast glance to the paper for a moment, more missing people and attempt to distract herself from her own current thoughts. It was so strange that she just couldn't seem to pinpoint what was going on, with the case at least. Usually everything so clear when it came to hunting, but people's bodies also tended to turn up as well. This didn't seem to be the case, they just...disappeared. The only thing that seemed to be the common denominator was the area. But that was it, and she had been asking questions for the past three days.
She really didn't want to drag her dad into this (that would actually require him to show up as well) and she didn't want to pull her sister into it either, but then, if she didn't do either of those, then where did that leave her? With more dead people and Solaris wasn't sure if she could really live with that decision, not if she could really prevent it. But she had also attracted attention to herself with her little questions, the only thing was that Solaris didn't quite realize that yet. Deciding that she'd call it quits for the night though and back home. Grabbing her stuff, she made her way to the door now, pausing for a moment as she first stepped out into the night.
Per usual, Solaris glanced around for a moment, taking in the area before she started to head towards her car. There was one thing she did differently though, she took out her phone and dialed their temporary home, desperate to talk to her sister since nothing felt right still. And yet, all what she got was the answering machine, "Rory? Um...hey, it's me. Look, I want to talk...again, I feel bad with how I handled our last conversation and-" but she cut herself off quickly now, for a moment, Solaris thought she heard something else. She glanced around, but only saw a few drunken people stumble on down the street. A frown rested on her lips, hunter paranoia creeping in for the briefest of moments before she carried on talking, "Well, I don't think I handled it well and that's not fair to you-"
And that's when it happened, somebody grabbed her from behind. Solaris thought she had seen it coming, and yet at the same time, she hadn't and it still caught her off guard. A yelp escaped her as something slammed into her, her assailant bring her down to the ground. Her phone flew from her hands, bouncing on the pavement and she rolled over onto her back. Solaris's eyes widen for a moment, the briefest of seconds there was fear as she came face to face with somebody with fangs. She screamed, slamming her hands and feet into the individual, struggling to push herself free and towards her car. The pavement scratched at her skin as she went, scrambling for it and the arsenal in her car, yet she never got a chance as the vampire struck her head with such force, slamming it into the car and everything went dark.
Solaris didn't know how long she had been out, but there was something strange about waking up strapped to a chair, that and she felt abnormally weak. As her eyes adjusted to the light, it suddenly became clear to her that she wasn't alone in the room either. Glancing around, there were others in tied to chairs, lazily staring into space like they were on a high. But there was something else there as well and it caused a panic to rise in her now. Solaris wanted to struggle in the chair but her body just couldn't seem to find the strength to do so. Glancing down, she then saw why, she was giving blood. The tubes were hooked up to her arms and they ran red with her blood.
She felt like she was going to be sick and it must have played across her face as a laugh broke the silence of the room, "Welcome to the blood bank, little hunter." Solaris glanced up to see the vampire who had attacked her, smiling for a moment before they disappeared now behind a closed door. She merely stared, waiting for them to come back but they didn't. Glancing around, everything began to fall into place in her mind. The missing people, there were no bodies because they were still alive and being used as feeding machines. And there was only so much blood you could give, it had to be on cycles. The more she thought though, the fuzzier everything seemed to get before once again, Solaris found herself drifting off.
occ; whoever wishes to respond, just use your imagination. I was too lazy to come up with a place for the blood bank. bwhahahaha, sounds sinister already.
